ICAIRE Research Portal
Privacy notice
Updated 18 October 2026
This notice explains how the International Center for AI Research and Ethics (ICAIRE) uses information in its Research Portal, including Google sign-in, researcher applications and research workspaces.
Information used by the portal
When you sign in with Google, the authentication service receives your Google account identifier, email address and basic profile information, such as your name and profile image. We use this identity information to authenticate your account, match your application and assigned roles, and prefill your name and email when you apply. The portal does not request access to your Gmail messages, Google Drive files or Google Calendar.
Researcher applications include your name, email address, institution or organisation, selected research track, and the CV or professional profile link you submit. Earlier applications may also contain a submitted article or research idea. CV and profile links are used to assess your background and are kept in the private application record. Workspaces store research project details, drafts, stage submissions, review feedback and decisions. The portal also records account roles, invitations, application status and workflow timestamps.
How information is used and accessed
We use this information to operate the research programme, assess applications, manage access, support research and committee review, and publish approved research. Signing in does not automatically grant researcher, committee or administrator access.
Access to private information depends on the role assigned to your account. Researchers can access their own projects and relevant feedback; authorised committee members and administrators can access information needed for review and administration. Research marked for public publication, including its completed research stages, is available to visitors without signing in. Private application information is not included in that public research view.
Services and sessions
The portal uses Supabase for authentication and database storage, Vercel for website hosting, and Google when you choose Google sign-in. These providers process information as part of delivering those services. The portal uses session cookies to maintain and verify your signed-in session. Hosting and authentication services also process technical request information to deliver and operate the service.
Your information and questions
You can sign out at any time. To ask about your information, request a correction or request deletion of your account or submitted information, contact harry@icaire.org. We may need to verify your identity before handling a request. Whether information can be removed depends on its status, research and review records, security needs and applicable requirements. Removing Google access or signing out does not itself delete information already submitted to the portal.
